From 1979 to 2004 Wilfried Gehrmann was Director of the "Landes Reit- und Fahrschule Rheinland" (State Riding and Driving School in the Rhineland). He is also the proud holder of the "Deutsches Reitabzeichen in Gold", an Executive Board member of the "Bundesvereinigung der Berufsreiter im Deutschen Reiter- und Fahrerverband e.V.", a recognised judge of riding as well as driving competitions and also a member of many test committees. Furthermore, he may be described as one of the leading experts in work on the long reins.
